Drops of Jupiter

I'm a 27 year old British woman who would like to be an academic librarian and/or a professional author. I'm currently working as a part-time receptionist and a part-time LRC Assistant. I'm still looking for a graduate library job.

Expect to find a lot of fandom-related things here (mainly anime/manga for now) and whatever else catches my interest.

If you have any (non-personal) questions, please feel free to go ahead and ask.

There’s nothing wrong with the art here, this is just a blog entry… and Ian’s a big step up from Ken, but it’s hard not to wince at the description of a ‘perfect princess’. (Sally’s got a nasty rep as a canon sue as it is.)
(Guest Submission)Pfft. Come on. We all know Sally is flawless.

… to be honest, given how seriously the Sonic fanbase tends to take the source material, I can’t really blame Ian for giving into the temptation to troll them at least some of the time. I’m not trying to step on anyone’s toes here, I’m just highly amused that sometimes it seems like half the fanbase is convinced that Sally is Ian’s Mary-Sue waifu while the other half is convinced that he hates her with the passion of a thousand burning suns.
Personally, judging by what I’ve seen of Ian’s run on the comics, I’d say you can tell who his favourites are but he’s not so obsessed with them that he’s blind to their faults or unwilling to give them a hard time when needs must. Looking back at the last couple of years’ issues, I think he was going through the whole “build them up to knock them down” rountine with Sally (imho, after the mess Penders and co. left her in, at least some of it was justified). YMMV as to how good a job he actually made of it.
That said, I apologise to my followers for reblogging Sanford Greene’s um… art. What is it with Archie and hiring artists who have no idea how to draw Sonic characters? (I’ve heard Sanford’s actually decent at drawing humans.)
